There are three routes from this start point:
- Sooke Town Walk Route “A” (5/10 km). A scenic walk on streets and trails that takes in Sooke’s waterfront boardwalk, several pocket parks, the Sooke Region Museum and a lighthouse on dry land. Trail rating is 2B.
- Sooke Country Walk Route “B” (10 km). This is a remote start walk. Pick up your map at Western Foods, then drive to the Sooke Region Museum where the walk starts. The walk crosses the Sooke River Bridge, then connects to the Galloping Goose trail. Trail rating is 2B.
- Sooke Potholes Walk Route “C” (12, 15 or 30 km). These are remote start walks. Pick up your map at Western Foods, then drive to the Sooke Region Museum where the walks start. The routes all cross the Sooke River Bridge before connecting with the Galloping Goose trail. Unfortunately only the 12 km route, which turns around at the Sooke Potholes parking lot, is currently available. The two longer routes take in the Todd Creek trestles, which are currently being restored – due to be finished by summer 2020. Check with walk owner. Trail rating is 2B.
- Sooke Town Walk Route “D” (5 km). This route is similar to route “A”, but avoids the steep walk down to the boardwalk. Trail rating is 2B.
